VAB Bank is rated by the two leading international rating agencies, Moody’s and Fitch since 2003 and 2006 respectively.

In July 2008 international rating agency Moody's Investors Service affirmed VAB Bank’s E+ financial strength rating (BFSR), Not Prime short-term local and foreign currency deposit ratings, and long-term national scale rating (NSR) of A1.ua. Moody's also confirmed the bank’s B2 long-term local and foreign currency deposit and debt ratings and assigned the stable outlook.
On 30 December 2008 Moody's Investors Service changed the outlook on the long-term global local currency and foreign currency deposit/debt ratings of 19 Ukrainian banks, including VAB Bank, to «Negative» from «Stable» and affirmed the assigned ratings. The rating agency also affirmed VAB Bank’s financial strength rating with «Stable» outlook.

In July 2008 Fitch Ratings has affirmed VAB Bank’s “B-” Long-term Issuer Default Rating, “B” Short-term IDR, “D/E” Individual rating, Support “5”, “BBB-(ukr)” National Long-term Rating. The Long-term IDR and National Long-term ratings carry Stable outlook.
In November Fitch Ratings changed the Outlooks for eleven Ukrainian banks, including VAB Bank, from Stable to Negative and affirmed the assigned ratings. The change in outlook reflects Fitch’s increased concerns about the credit profiles of Ukrainian banks in light of the renewed sharp depreciation of the national currency. Now, all Ukrainian banks’ ratings carry the Negative Outlook according to Fitch.
